    [05/08/2004 16:51] Today it's Petra Wartusch's birthday but there was no happy birthday. She lost to Tatiana Perebiynis, 6-0,6-4. She had no chance at all and when she made a double fault on the match ball it put an end to a non-exciting match.

    On court 1 a real thriller was played. Barbara Schett had the lead in the third set, 4-1, but couldn't hold on to it. France's Severine Beltrame won six of the next seven games and moved on to the quarterfinal.

    I think it is a high quality of the players to be a tier 4 tournament. The arrangement is very good, we stay at a great hotel in the city. It is close to restaurants which is important for us and everything has worked
    very smoothly so far. It is special to play at a stadium like this so I really enjoy it here.


    Alicia Molik from Australia is not only enjoying life life in Stockholm, she is playing really good as well. Her match against Talaja only took about 50 minutes before she won, 6-3,6-1.

    The match between Nagyova and Panetta developed into a real thriller. Panetta won the first set, 7–5, and Nagyova the following, 7–6. In the third set Nagyova had the grip of the set by leading 5–2. She couldn't win the match although she had seven matchpoints in that game. Then she had to take a break because she had a lighter injury but she came back struggleing. She made an terrific effort as the match went on too tiebreak and finally Nagyova won the tiebreak, 10–8.
